Okafor to the Nets
Earlier this afternoon it was reported by Zach Lowe of ESPN that the Philadelphia 76ers have finally found a trade for 3rd year center Jahlil Okafor. The 76ers will send Okafor, Nik Stauskas and a second round pick to Brooklyn in exchange for Trevor Booker. The trade comes after Jahlil voiced his displeasure on multiple occasions and openly requested he be moved to a team where he would have a chance to prove himself. I've been rooting for him to find a new home and Brooklyn seems like just the place. Okafor will be playing with the man selected immediately before him in the 2015 draft in D'Angelo Russell, the two of them have had their original teams give up on them quickly and will play with something to prove. This move shows yet again that the Nets front office has come a long way since the Billy King days and they're finding a way to turn the franchise around despite not having much to bargain with. Over all this trade looks good for the Nets and Sixers, the Nets get younger and receive a pick after watching Boston draft in their spot for a few years while Philly gets a capable power forward with some much needed experience. I'll be tuning in the see what we've been missing in the return of former 3rd overall pick, Jahlil Okafor.
